Maryellen works with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, and trauma. She enjoys supporting adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by self-doubt and overthinking. Many of the people she works with are incredibly hard on themselves and overlook their strengths—she’s here to help shift that. Maryellen also works with children who are struggling with managing their emotions and behaviors.
She earned both her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Hunter College. She has trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Maryellen also uses mindfulness and somatic based techniques to help her clients overcome emotional overwhelm and chronic stress.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. Maryellen creates a space where clients feel safe to explore what’s not working and begin making meaningful changes. Together, you’ll work to identify what’s holding you back and move toward a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with who you are.
